Profile

Our physical condition gradually deteriorates with aging. There are various molecular events in this deterioration. The aim of our research group is the elucidation of the mechanisms of geriatric diseases and the application of our findings to therapy or prevention of such diseases. To achieve our aim we are analysing the process of disease onset via molecular abnormality by using animal models and/or human cultured cell line. Our research projects are characterized by the molecule and phenomena discovered by ourselves.

Major Research Titles

1) Senescence marker protein- 30 (SMP30) and age-associated organ disorder
2) Peptidylarginine deiminase (PAD) and age-associated organ disorder
3) Adrenomedullin and age-associated organ disorder
4) Molecular biology of neuromuscular junction
5) Age-associated nephropathy
